Merit Beauty Review (from a clean beauty junkie on a budget)
Merit Beauty is a clean beauty company that sells minimal, luxury makeup products - all good for your skin, body and planet. Between their better-for-you ingredients, stunning packaging, and all-in-one products, oh course I have been eyeing them up for months. However, the price tag kept me from pulling the trigger and giving them a try. That was until Merit Beauty reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try some of their products. Of course I said yes! It was the perfect opportunity to see if Merit Beauty is actually worth it.
I received their signature makeup bag (Omg LOVE). I thought I got a special bag but turns out, every Merit Beauty purchase comes with this beautiful bag! Naturally, I had to get the product they are most known for, The Minimalist - Perfecting Complexion Stick in Dune. I also got their Flush Balm in Stockholm.
My thoughts on the Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick

This complexation stick is what Merit Beauty is most known for. It is an all in one foundation and concealer, making it the perfect product to take with you on the go. At first, I tried applying the stick all over. It has really nice coverage but wasn’t exactly my desired finish (I prefer more of a dewy finish all over) so after trying it a few more times, I found I like it best as a concealer and for touch ups, redness and blemishes. It gives a stunning no makeup makeup look when used in that way. I can tell that this stick would be a great contour as well if purchased in a darker color. It has a very natural finish that blends right into your skin and the coverage is light-medium. It’s super hydrating making it great for dry skin, yet still holds up in the summer months when my skin can be more on the oily side. It also stays put all day which I love. Does the Minimalist Complexion Stick transform your skin, giving you a flawless look? No, but does it enhance your complexation for the perfect everyday makeup look? Yes. Since trying this product, I find myself reaching for it everyday. It’s not a product that will absolutely change the way your skin looks, but it’s a product that’s so easy, convenient and reliable, that it makes for the perfect light, everyday makeup look.
My thoughts on the Flush Balm in Stockholm

I would give this blush a 4.5/5 stars. I love it. The formula is gorgeous, it looks so natural and glides seamlessly on to the skin. The color is the most perfect pink shade that compliments my light-medium skin tone. The color reminds me of the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in Happy (aka the blush I used on my wedding day - unreal). It has become my go-to everyday blush. The only reason it’s missing .5 stars is because it doesn’t last all day long but that’s pretty common for most cream blushes. I still love it more than most of the cream blushes I’ve tried. The application is so smooth and the color is perfect.
Overall, I love these products from Merit Beauty. They are a clean beauty minimalist’s dream. As a clean beauty junkie on a budget, I think Merit Beauty is worth the price tag. Merit Beauty makeup products are a good quality, cleaner alternative to most high-end products but what I really love about them is that they are super practical for everyday wear, making it a good investment. Plus, if you are a minimal makeup lover like myself, you can buy a full face of makeup products for a discounted price from one of their many customizable sets. (Taking a mental note for Christmas gifts.) Now that I’ve got a taste for these products, I will definitely be purchasing more from Merit Beauty, and the brow pomade is next on my list!
